Elections for OPSEU’s 21 Executive Board Members took place across the province on Saturday, April 6, 2013.
Thirteen Executive Board members were re-elected to their positions, including OPSEU President Smokey Thomas and 1st Vice-President/Treasurer Eddy Almeida. Eight new members were elected to the Board, including three new Board members in Region 5.
Elections also took place for regional representatives to OPSEU’s Provincial Human Rights Committee, Provincial Women’s Committee, Provincial Young Worker’s Committee and, for the first time, the Provincial Francophone Committee.
Elections for OPSEU President and 1st Vice-President/Treasurer will take place at the OPSEU Convention on April 26. The new Executive Board will be sworn in and begin their term at the close of the Convention on April 27.
