Threads of Life is a national, charitable organization dedicated to helping Canadian families along their journey of healing after they have experienced a workplace fatality, life-altering injury or occupational disease.
Steps for Life is a non-competitive 5 KM walk open to everyone — families, professionals and health & safety partners. The walk raises the awareness that injuries are preventable and life-altering workplace injuries, illness and deaths can be eliminated. In 2012 more than 4300 people acrossCanadaparticipated and raised over $400,000.
All proceeds go directly to the Threads of Life family support program. Family support includes one-on-one peer support, training to become an injury prevention speaker, development of a quarterly newsletter and the coordination of an annual forum that teaches families healthy coping skills for their journey of healing.
We would like your help in recruiting volunteers for this event! We need volunteers to help out on the committee, set up and clean up the site, greet, register and direct walkers and provide other support on the day of the event.
Not only do volunteers assist with this important cause, they also have lots of fun doing so. All volunteers will receive a Steps for Life T-Shirt and enjoy a free lunch.
Please post the attached flyer or announce this request.
