OPSEU wins big at CALM

OPSEU won numerous prizes for excellence in communications at the 2011 Canadian Association of Labour Media (CALM) Awards on Friday, May 18.
Our widely recognized and popular healthcare blog, the Diablogue, was awarded “Best website content produced by staff” (http://diablogue.org). The recent “How Screwed Are You” campaign which continues to draw timely attention to rising student debt won the award for “Best website design produced by staff (campaign)” (http://www.howscrewedareyou.ca/en/students/). OPSEU’s Social Mapping Project won an award as a communications initiative that enhances member participation and access, and overcomes discrimination. The Year of African Descent commissioned illustration and the “Vote October 6” campaign t-shirt design were also winners at the yearly award ceremony.
